A Prayer Attributed to St. Francis:
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

Professor Lee I was blessed when I read this little exerp from St. Francis. Everday since I rededicated my life to Christ satan has done everything in his power to detour me from becoming the Christian Youth Pastor God has called me to be but he will never gain any ground and surely never win "for greater is he that is in me than is in the world". It is so true that we have to die to ourselves to be born again into eternal life. Coming to know Christ has been the greatest thing I could have ever asked for. Just like Jesus said it won't always be easy and it is a tough road to follow but in the end we will stand with Christ victorious and truely happy. Just as this prayer states...it is so as well with my heart I want to be used by Christ...I've been through more guilt, shame, and embarressment in the last 8 months of my life than ever before. However, Jesus is healing me further each morning, and restoring my self confidence. I long to be used by Jesus as a pawn to show the world his love. Each morning just as Brother Francis did i have started to ask God to help me die to my selfish ways of life and truely live every breath for him.
