Do you remember when you learned that Santa Claus wasn't real? Guess what? Good Friday and a Sunday resurrection aren't either. Discover the real story from the pages of the Bible itself! - Bruce Gore
My initial impressions based solely on the quote above found myself labeling Mr. Gore a heretic. In fact, in my mind I was sharpening the stake and stoking the fire for the first chance to run across this gentleman. I was thinking, "John Calvin wasn't half bad."
However, after getting into the article, I discovered that it was pretty well written, thought provoking and even quite compelling at points. As you delve in, please be careful not to jump to any preconceived conclusions. In fact, attempt to lock all your presuppositions at the door.
I'd like to read your thoughts on this article. How do you find his argument? What do you think of hermeutical skills? If his argument is accurate, what are some implications for the church?

Professor Lee,
This is not a new idea, just a forgotten one. I am glad someone has finally challenged the church again on such a profound argument.
DON'T BURN THE MESSENGER!!
So, what is the purpose of this challenge? If the argument is true, what does it mean for the church? What impact any does it have on our church calendar or worhip services and so on?
Why haven't more scholars over ages made this an issue? Perhaps, it is because it is not an essential matter - that actual day of Jesus' crucifixion is inconsequential. What is more significant - the actual crucifixion or the day?
I liked the argument, but at times I got the sense that this fellow is another reactionist. I believe, he may have a dozen or more cospiracy theories. Ecclessiologically speaking he may even be an elitist, and therefore, he writes this arguments to attempt to prove "his church" is right. What do you think?
I gave one of my speeches in Basic Oral Comm on this. I liked the article and I believe that Jesus died just like the article said.
